Oh, great, I fell through the rift. Timothy had told me about the damage it can do. Like in Atlantis; he said the Gorgons used to be beautiful until they started playing about with the rift. Apparently, different points in time and space collided with their DNA, hence their weird snake hair. A small flame emerged.
“Fantastic. You managed to get here too.”
It was Miss Noir, head of E.N.I.G.M.A., the organisation, not the prophecy. I could see her dimly lit face, covered in dirt. I pulled myself up from the ground and looked around at what little I could see.
“Serious question now... Do I have snakes for hair?”
Miss Noir was anxiously unwrapping a carton of cigarettes. She tore through the silver foil and took one out, caressing it in her thin lips.
“I always carry ten with me. Y’know, just in case it’s the end of the world.”
She extended the box two me. She may have been a super bitch, but at least she wasn’t rude. I took a cigarette from her, which she lit. It was my first cigarette in six years... and it was good.
“You might as well tell me now. What the fuck is going on?”
“Well, I can only presume we’ve landed on North Ignatius Magma.”
“Ignatius Magma?”
“Don’t tell me Mr. Vortex hasn’t told you about this place.”
“He told me it was the first place he remembers, when he was created from the space-time vortex.”
“He told you that? Oh my, he has a lot to learn.”
“What does that mean?”
“Nothing. Go on.”
She was definitely hiding something.
“He said that between the North and the South planets is where the universe began... and that’s where it will end.”
She began to chuckle softly before taking another drag of her cigarette. I raised my eyebrow and gave her a chance to stop laughing before I plunged by burning tobacco into her face.
“And where is her now? Probably gallivanting about with that Welsh woman.”
“Pfft...”
“Come on. You saw the way they were acting. And then what happened? He left you. He left you for her.”
“He didn’t leave me.”
“Oh, really? So where is he now? I knew the rift lead here, but he doesn’t. Not only did he leave you, but he’s got no way to find you.”
“He’ll find me.”
“Not a chance.”
“He’ll find me!”
I roared at her. She may be your typical dominatrix type of character, but she’s no match for a Scot. As my cigarette landed on the floor, I noticed something. It was a small speck of light coming through the muddy cave walls. I poked through and saw more light.
“Gimme a hand.”
She did. The two of us began to scrape through the dirt and the mud, revealing more and more light. Eventually, we broke through and saw...

I was on my not-so-typical stroll around Michelle’s uncompromising neighbourhood upon my journey back from Live-Wire. I had just been in a rather surprising match against Justin Bauer. In all honesty, with everything on my mind, I was expecting an easy victory; however, Bauer shocked the world and for once was actually competition.
“Excuse me.”
I felt something tug at my dusty blue coat. Spinning on my heel, I saw nothing. Was it my mind playing tricks on me? Alas, there it was again. I through my eyes down to see a young girl, no more than 10, staring up at me. I knelt down beside me.
“Hello there, little Miss. Is something troubling you?”
“You look lonely.”
I smiled.
“My dear, don’t worry about that. I’m perfectly content.”
“I’m lonely too.”
The little girl looked down and her straight, black hair hid her pale face. I patted her on the shoulder.
“Where are your parents?”
“Your guess is as good as mine. I’m CJ by the way.”
Sharp one, this kid.
“Timothy Edward Vortex.”
“That’s a funny name.”
“Not as funny as your face.”
I jested. Fortunately, she showed no offence and merely chuckled. She then grabbed me by the hand, gripping it tightly as she swung it back and forth like a pendulum.
“So what are you doing here.”
“I was looking for a friend.”
“Me too. Not having much luck at the moment.”
“I had a map, but the coordinates were wrong.”
Oh my God.
“Say that again.”
“The coordinates were wrong.”
“Coordinates!”
I’m sure you will not share this excitement, but you shall soon realise. I picked CJ up and span her around in the air, listening to the child giggle as I frantically began to kiss her cheek. I’d finally figured it out... and it was coming.
