A boy gone astray, deceived by a god
Remembers the day, bereft of his blood
Might to your dismay now equal we meet
Self righteous repay, you kneel by my feet, I stand
By the axe in my hand
I will conquer the land
I will decimate and decapitate
Those who question the axe in my hand
I seek what you took, I promise you'll pay
By hook or by crook, a boy gone astray I stand
By the axe in my hand
I will conquer the land
I will decimate and decapitate
Those who question the axe, I stand
I hold the final truth of all eternity
Happens to include my own superiority
Mischief of the past has come to seal your destiny
Kneel before me now or I will have your head for heresy
The scene opens outside Brodd’s apartment where the number 21 hangs on the wooden door. With a careful push the cameraman opens the unlocked door and a strong roar is heard. The cameraman has entered the messy kitchen of The Mad Viking, Oswald Brodd who also appears to be the person yelling. The cameraman must take his steps with precision so he doesn’t step on the many beer cans and pizza traces on the floor. He manages to find a path through the filthy labyrinth and opens the door leading into the current FWF Universal champion’s living room. The cameraman barely has a chance to open the door before a newly crushed beer can comes flying straight in his direction. Oswald Brodd is seen sitting on his black leather couch. A case of Tuborg beers is placed nearby on a wooden table. He is in his normal outfit which means that he has his black leather pants on and a shirt made of flax under his coat of mail. On the other side of the table sits his blond haired friend Leif Yngvar who reaches out and grabs a new beer from the case. He flips the cap open starts drinking. Oswald on the other hand doesn’t drink which Leif soon notice.
Leif Yngvar:
Whats wrong with you? It’s too early to stop drinking, it’s not even noon yet.
Brodd seems to be lost in his thoughts, but lets out a small grin as Leif speaks to him.
Oswald Brodd:
Who said anything about stop drinking?
With that Brodd takes a new beer and begins chugging. Leif laughs a bit and follows Brodd’s example. Gently The Mad Viking places his can on the wooden table and looks at his countryman.
Oswald Brodd:
My thoughts are just on Genesis. This could very well be the most important and toughest match of my career against one of the best wrestlers in FWF history. For the first time I’m nervous about a match.
Oswald and Leif look at each other as silence surrounds them, but then they both burst out in laughter. They both take their beer cans and slam them into each other before drinking the remaining beer.
Leif Yngvar:
You had me going for a second.
Brodd grins and throws the empty can away.
Oswald Brodd:
You can’t be serious. Why in Midgaard should I be nervous? It’s a Last Man Standing match. There are no rules so I can do anything I want to do with that peasant. I can beat him as much as I want without some idiotic security guards stopping me.
Leif looks a bit concerned.
Leif Yngvar:
But he can do the same to you?
Brodd stumbles for a moment. He didn’t expect that answer. He begins to speak in a harsher tone.
Oswald Brodd:
What have you been smoking?
Leif is about to answer, but Brodd cuts him off.
Oswald Brodd:
Don’t answer that, I don’t even want to know. But there is no way that brat can hurt me, especially in this type of match. This is going to be a brawl where you have to endure tremendous pain and as the longest reigning hardcore champion in FWF history I would say that I have an advantage. Unlike my opponent I’m used to this environment and I know what it takes to be victorious. So I don’t believe Danny boy knows what he has gotten himself into. He is only concentrated about getting his filthy British hands on me, but he forgets what I did to him last week on Live-Wire where it only took me a couple of seconds to lay him out and I would have done the same the other times we have seen each other if security guards hadn’t got involved. Psychical and mentally I’m stronger than Danny, so his only weapon will be his hatred for me, but that will only encourages me to punish him even more. When I’m done with him he will be begging for Nidhug, the death dragon, to suck the remaining of his blood and let him rot in the freezing depths of Niflheim.
The Mad Viking gets up from the couch and walks over to the far corner of the room where shelves holds replicas of Brodd former championship belts and the Universal title. He grabs the Universal championship belt and walks over to the couch again. He places the belt on the table beside the beers. He grabs a new beer before sitting down.
Oswald Brodd:
This belt should be in focus for the match. It’s up for grab at a main event match at the biggest show of year, but truth being told I couldn’t care less if I keep this belt or not. I would gladly lose my title just as long as I can give Danny the worst beating of his life and make sure he will never return to FWF. I have already proven that I’m able to injure him, but last time I injured him I actually restrained myself because I felt sorry for him. I had sympathy for him and his situation with his father. It’s no easy losing a father so I gave Danny a break and a chance to prove himself once he returned. But did he use the opportunity? No! He wasted it. Instead of trying to make a name for himself and create his own legacy so he wouldn’t be in his father’s shadow anymore he kept on trying to provoke me. But now that time has come for him to pay for his insults.
Leif slowly drinks his beer while he looks at Oswald. He then lowers the beer and speaks.
Leif Yngvar:
Why are you so absorbed about Danny T? Like you said, you have already shown the world that he is nothing more than a bloody sköge.
Brodd chugs his beer before throwing the can away. He smiles at Leif’s remark.
Oswald Brodd:
I’ve never been a fan of the Taylor family which I doubt comes as a surprise to anyone. But my feud with Dan Taylor was too short and I didn’t have the opportunity to beat him so now I’m doing the next best thing, unleashing my anger upon his son. If Danny had dropped his father’s nickname and not trying to revive Dan Taylor’s legacy I would probably have left him alone, but Danny was looking for fight and by Thor’s beard he found one. And now thanks to FWF management’s newest stipulation for our match I can finally complete my goal of removing that last trace of the Taylor family in FWF. After Genesis the Taylor name and legacy will only be a myth which no one will talk about again. Instead people will talk about how I removed another English wrestler from FWF and then people will realize that Danes are simply superior!
A look of concern is on Leif’s face. He tries to hide it, but Brodd quickly notice it. With his hand he signals Leif to say what is on his mind. Leif takes a small sip of his beer he then calmly clears his throat.
Leif Yngvar:
I’m just thinking you might not have thought this through. Granted, if you win you’ll be rid of Danny T, but what if you lose? Not only will you lose the war against Danny, but you will also lose your title and most important, you’ll lose your job and all things you’ve worked so hard for to accomplish.
The Mad Viking’s face turns red. The frustration is seen in his eyes and his body language tells that he is irritated. But instead of throwing a tantrum he restrains himself. He opens a new can and calmly drinks from it before placing it on the table.
Oswald Brodd:
Look, you’re my best friend and I respect you, but if this is your idea of a pep talk you can get out of my apartment right now before I bash your head in. Since when have you ever doubted my abilities? You didn’t doubt me when I first got here and said I would make a name for myself. You didn’t doubt me when I week after week defended the hardcore title and you certainly didn’t doubt me when I fought and defeated The British Empire. So why do you doubt me now?
Leif slowly shrugs his shoulders.
Leif Yngvar:
I don’t know. It’s just that you have never been in a match before with so much on the line and I can’t believe you’re taking it so lightly. But I apologize I should believe in your skills instead of thinking negative.
Brodd’s face lightens up a bit. He raises his can and toasts with Leif.
Oswald Brodd:
We’re Vikings. We are not supposed to think so much about the consequences of our actions. But when I unleash the mayhem nothing and nobody can stand in my way and I proved that at Blizzard where I dominated the Blizzard match. I eliminated eight men in that match. I almost singlehanded eliminated half of the competitors in the match and Danny knows that. He knows I’m always ready to fight and yes, this time there is more at stake, but that only makes it more interesting for me. Not only am I fighting to defeat my nemesis, but I’m fighting for my career, but that’s not new for me.
Brodd gulps down more beer while Leif sits and listens to him. Beer runs down Brodd’s beard which he removes with his hand. Both Vikings finishes their beers and throws the cans away.
Oswald Brodd:
I’ve fought for everything I have accomplished here in FWF. I started at the bottom on my own when I first got here and since then I’ve fought my way up the ladder to be on the top and with Odin as my witness I’ll not let a peasant like Danny take my spot. I’ve always been a team player and I don’t mind other people getting the spotlight, but you have to earn it which Danny hasn’t. He hasn’t evolved into a main eventer even though he has been given several chances to prove himself. I’ve been in FWF for almost five years now and everybody knows who I am. I’ve earned the right to be here unlike Danny, and now I have the chance to prove that. Pain is right, we can’t keep doing this and that’s why I’ll force Danny boy into an early retirement. After our match he will only be a footnote in FWF history and the Second Age of the Vikings will live on. The time for talk is over. Now I will unleash the full wrath of the Gods upon him. I will go to the Fenriz wolf’s island and cut it loose from its chains and thereby starting Ragnarök just so I can demolish Danny one more time. When all is said and done I will stand in triumph over his mutilated body and laugh. And then will all the British present kneel before me.
The Great Dane gets up from the couch. With fire in his eyes he looks straight into the camera.
Oswald Brodd:
Danny boy! You still have a chance to leave FWF at your own free will. Otherwise there is a good chance that you’ll soon join your father in Niflheim where all the weak and pathetic dead men live. But I know you’re not smart enough to accept my offer so instead I’ll see you at Genesis and you can be sure you’ll have to prepare for Ragnarök!
Brodd grabs his Universal title belt. He swings it over his right shoulder and signals for Leif to get up. Leif gets up from the chair and grabs the remaining beers. The Norsemen passes the cameramen and leaves the apartment as the scene fades to black.
