James Stallwalks into the gym of the FWF arena and sees MTB standing in the middle of the ring.
There you are! I've been looking all over the place for you. We need to get back to training. Can't just rest on our laurels. Gotta train up and go looking for the next team to fight.
James climbs into the ring and pushes MTB in his shoulder.
Well? Come on.
OOC: We're looking to keep FWF's tag team going. So this is a great opportunity for two people to show up and end up randomly forming a tag team.

I checked for any cameras, wondering whether I have to keep up my on-screen image of modesty. Quite frankly, I knew I was above tag team wrestling, since it means nothing anymore. I wanted more. Once satisfied there are none, I moved James' hand away.
MTB: What next team? We've beaten every team that we can face. They might as well retire the tag titles. No one gives a crap about tag team wrestling in 2011.
I took a step back, and lean against the ropes, waiting to see how James would react.

James stands there for a moment and shakes his head as he looks at his partner simply leaning on the ring ropes.
That's why we just have to find ourselves another team to fight. We have to make the people care.

I couldnt help but eaveesdrop on the conversation our tag champs were having as I entered the gym. Marcus did have a point, the tag division in FWF had dwindled to pretty much nothing. Not that there ever was a huge one. Although I helpd some success in it.
I spoke up then, deciding to let my presence be known
Matthew "The Raven" Knox None of my business, i know. . . but I care about tag team wrestling

"Make the people care?" Do any tag team wrestlers ever get remembered as being all time greats? No. I wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was. To be honest with myself, James and I were forced into a tag team by The Predator. He seemed to think it would develop us. It did, but I knew I was ready to be a singles competitor and rise up the ranks. I just looked at James and sighed.
MTB: Listen, bro. We've beaten them all. Meds. Beaten. Twins. Beaten. The Breakfast Table. Beaten. The wWo. Destroyed. Camisado and James Bohne. Beaten and no longer a team. Super Wild or whatever they're calling themselves. Just beat them at Genesis. And if we could travel through time, we'd beat The Real Deal, Novo Fas, King of Kings and Shawn Fuller, H.E.X., The Alliance, Better Than Sex, The Enemy and even The Lost Heroes themselves. We won't see any of them teams back soon so what's the point? We've not got any challengers at all...

Marcus are you even listening? Raven here cares about tag team wrestling. Don't let a couple of wins inflate your ego. You'll never get better that way. You just have to keep your head down and keep fighting.
James leans over the ropes and points at Knox.
You! You care about tag team wrestling? Then go and find yourself a partner. We'll take you on anytime anywhere.

I laugh aloud, and shake my head, then walk over to the ring, and stare up at the two, speaking mostly to Stall Matthew "The Raven" Knox Well, tell you what James, if I can find someone, i'll gladly take you guys up on that. I motion to Marcus then, before speaking.Matthew "The Raven" Knox Besides, Junior here owes me a match with a better ending than the one we got. So it works out for me anyway

"Inflate my ego?" It was confidence in my abilties, kiddo. And I don't need to get better, I was the one who carried the match at Genesis. I was the one who had so many big names beat until they got themselves disqualified. I was the one who had never been pinned in FWF. Was there anyone else who could say that? No. And wait, is that Matt Knox, and did James just challenge him? I just glared at James and yelled to him.
MTB: What are you doing issuing challenges? I've got a match with Christian Lee on Live-Wire! And it's not Marcus, it's MTB!
I think I might have been a little too annoyed so I stopped talking and looked on. As if Knox could find a partner. Sure, he had a hot wife, who I had beaten before, but she was no Aurora Strachon, that's for sure. I'd beaten him before as well, albeit by DQ, but I'd had that match won too. I just wished he wouldn't call me Junior. Being in my father's shadow was frustrating.

Astryd Knox had by then managed to walk upon the group and heard the comment about the New Direction being the best in the tag team division. A small smile crosses her lips as she places a hand on Matthew's arm while stepping to his side.
Astryd:"So you really think you are better than the Twins? I admit we lost to you at Jealousy but let me ask you this Marcus, Are you and James willing to put your money were your mouth is? Will you two face a team in a tag team on tag team match up?
Astryd looks at her husband for a moment then turns to looks back at MTB and James.
Astryd:"Or are you going to let the fact that Sujir and I had been out of a wrestling ring for over a year count as a testament to our abilities? I would like to think that you would let us have a chance to show you what we can do when we don't have ring rust."
She keeps her hand on her husband's arm with a faint smile on her lips as she waits for a reaction.

Did she just call me 'Marcus'? I wished I didn't have to rely on this nice guy image I was being marketed on, I really wanted to be myself, and I didn't like my name, whenever I'm announced, there'd be emphasis on the 'Brody' and sometimes Phil Charles would slip in the 'junior', I wanted to be announced as "Marcus Thomas Brody, M! T! B!!!" with no emphasis at all on my full name. But no, I had to keep up this facade as a modest goody goody, but it looks like people are seeing my true colours... Eureka! I'd let people hear about what I'm really like, word would spread and I'd get booed. Then I would be able to show my true colours and people will pay. People would pay to want to see me lose, but because I'm so talented, I wouldn't, and the money, the glory and the legacy builds. The Predator didn't become a Hall of Famer off being a nice guy, did he? Damn, Astryd was looking hot. I leered at her before saying whatever came to mind.
MTB: I'd love to have a tag match with you.
Seriously, who called it a "tag team on tag team" match? Silly bint.
MTB: But... if you're not aware I'm in a match with Christian Lee this coming Live-Wire, in the main event no less.
How many main events had you had, Astryd? How many World Champions had you beaten, Astryd?
MTB: And, after that, I'm on a holiday with some of the Strachons until June 7th, so our match will have to wait. Oh, and I think having been through the Jealousy Battle Royal, co-winning it, beating James Bohne in singles action, and beating Devil & Couch Potato, Sausage & Bean, and Prozac & Ritalin in the gauntlet before facing you and your brother, Sujir, would balance out a little bit of of "ring rust". Now, please, if you all don't mind, I've got a big match to prepare for.
I left the ring and swaggered off towards the exit. As I reached the door, I leaned back on it and yelled to everyone.
MTB: And please, the name's MTB!
I paused for a moment, just in case there was any reaction.

James smiles broadly. He is unwilling to waste the opportunity that has been presented to him.
Why wait? We've got a ring right here. MTB and I will take you two on right here right now.

Couldn't he ever cool it? It's never a wise move to take on these kind of challenges when you've got big singles matches coming up, and you've still not recovered fully from Genesis. I sighed and shook my head before coming back to the ring.
MTB: Alright, alright. Let's do this.
There was no way I was going to be accused of a coward. If only they knew the crap I'd been through in my life. Plus, I figured I could use a warm up match before my Live-Wire main event against Christian Lee.

James claps his hands together.
Great! I'll start things off.
James pats Marcus on the back.
Step out Marcus.

I glanced at Astryd, then back into the ring, and shook my head..The things your woman will get you into.
I leaned down, and whispered into her ear.
Matthew "The Raven" Knox I'll start, you just let me handle these clowns
With that, I rolled in under the bottom rope, and quickly got to my feet, turning all my attention to James Stall

Astryd steps out of the ring with a smirk on her lips as she watches her husband take on James. She was ready for this and couldn't help but smile at how easily her words had but the pair on the defensive.
Astryd:"Don't think you can keep me out of that ring for too long Matthew."
