"People always said I only got all my matches here because of who I am, or, more specifically, who my father was. They said no matter what I did, I would always be in the shadow of him… the legendary DDT King. It’s been a year now and I can barely feel his presence around me anymore. I’m on my own, just like he was… orphaned. And just like him, there’s no way I’m gonna let that hold me down…"
The scene opens in the hallways of FWF, where Linda Myles stands in front of a plastic backdrop, bearing the Blizzard logo. The camera zooms out revealing “Dragonfly” Danny T. stood beside her, attired in his full wrestling gear of a black, spandex vest with purple trim and purple tights. The cameraman counts in from three and allows his finger to drop, signalling for Linda to start.
“Hello, everyone, I’m Linda Myles here with my guest at this time, the DDT Kid, “Dragonfly” Danny T. And, Danny, I have to ask you your thoughts about FWF Genesis VIII,” she inquires. Without hesitation, Danny returns an answer.
“It’s going to be… Different,” he replies.
“Different?”
“Since 2004, Genesis has been home to lots of great moments… The Underdog coming out on top… a legend returning… the best Warriors in FWF history proving that they are indeed the best. But there’s always been one specific moment in each and every one of those events that everybody watches for… An appearance of Dan “Dragon” Taylor,” he explains, confidently. Linda keeps quiet, unable to think of a response about her good friend. Eventually, she changes the subject and asks Danny a second question.
“Tonight on Live-Wire, we will be hosting a twenty Warrior Blizzard match where the winner will go on to face Christian Lee for the FWF World Championship at Genesis. Do you plan on seizing that opportunity?” she asks. Dan ponders for a moment.
“No,” Danny states, controversially. “I want to earn my shot at the World title over time, just like my father did. Christian Lee may have just walked into the promotion and gone straight to the top, but I have more respect for this business. This is my passion,” he snaps with his rich, British accent echoing a family tone.
“So… why did you enter yourself in the match?” she interrogates, puzzled. Danny smiles and turns towards the camera, which slowly zooms in on his face. In a calm manner, he utters two words:
“Oswald Brodd.” Danny walks off, leaving the camera to focus on a baffled Linda Myles as the scene fades to black.
