Good luck changing that, Bohne

-Act I-
{Hello Darling}
I sat back, leaning into the comforting leather outside my and Astryd’s home. The same old result to the same old story. Never have won a match on a return basis, probably never will. Although, like a lot of them, I lost this one due to DQ.
Then, of course, just when I was putting Wild Bill and Super Faggy Star into their respective places, a surprise attack from a surprise jackass put me on the floor next to the Tag Champs. Oh well, I’m alright with it honestly. Bohne wouldn’t have a chance to hit me with “the assassination” at Genesis.
I shook my head, thinking of everything that a Matt Knox and James Bohne match entailed. The hatred, the tag titles, Charlie James, the wWo. Too much for even me to wrap my head around at times. But, to be honest, I certainly had more pressing issues that that washed up has been at this moment in time.
Slowly, I slid out of the black Jaguar which had been cradling my sore body, and stood to my full height. While I would have preferred a different outcome than the one I had received at Livewire, I enjoyed being back in the ring, and hearing the roar of the crowd again.
Raven
Better than any drug.
I spoke the words to no one, but the cool night air. I took a deep breath in through my nose, and stretched my hands upward to the sky, as if reaching for the heavens, before arching my back, feeling the relief rush through me as it popped.
I walked up the cobblestone walkway, before opening the door, and stepping into the dimly lit, quiet homestead that awaited me. I hadn’t seen Sujir, his wife, or their child since I got back, but I imagined it was only a matter of time.
I made my way slowly to the stairs, the aches and pains still biting at me. Briefly, I thought of how I was approaching 30 much too fast, but quickly dismissed the thought, and all thoughts that nip at a professional wrestler when the topic of aging comes up.
As I reach the top of the stairs, I stop briefly, hearing Astryd, my darling wife’s voice. She was speaking in a soft tone. I walk forward toward the sound, and stop outside a slightly cracked door. Memory tells me that this was Sujir’s sons nursery before I left.
I slowly pushed the door open, and was greeted with the sight of pink and navy blue walls, a myriad of children’s play things strewn upon the floor. My eyes finally fell on Astryd, in a pair of jeans and a deep purple corset top, kneeling over a crib, and holding a stuffed blackbird.
I Sleuth up behind her, and gently, but firmly wrap my arms around her waist, burying my face into her neck, emitting a low, seductive sound from my throat. She tenses up in my arms at first, before leaning back into my waiting form, and relaxing against it.
Astryd
Well hello there, handsome
I answer her with another low, primal sound, before taking some flesh between my teeth, and biting down gently. I feel her tense again, but she begins to withdraw from me. I quirk an eyebrow, and pull her back in. She, however, responds by pulling from me completely, before turning around, and placing her hands on my chest.
Astryd
Matthew, there’s something you should probably know, now that you’re back
Raven
It can wait until after I’m done with you. . .
I move toward her again, but she holds firm, slowly shaking her head, a bemused smile playing itself across her lips. I struggle to take her rejection in, her perfume filling my nostrils with it’s enchanting odor, only causing the growing erection in my jeans to throb more. I wanted her right now, damn the news she had for me.
Astryd
Matthew, there will be plenty of time for all that, and this is much more serious than sex.
Raven
At this moment, my dear, I must whole heartedly disagree.
She laughs slightly, before shoving me just enough to put a little distance between us. She then clears her throat, before motioning me to come toward her, and turning back around to peer down into the crib. I sigh heavily, and walk over, expecting to see Sujir’s son. I stand close to her, slinking a possessive arm around her waist.
Astryd
Isn’t the child beautiful?
I peer into the crib, and look the toddler over. It couldn’t be more than a couple years old, with jet black hair, and wide, wondering blue eyes. I couldn’t help but feel my seductive instincts slip away, and an odd warmth replaces it in the pit of my stomach.
Raven
Yes it is…Did Sujir have another child with Katie?
Astryd cast me a sidelong glance, before slowly shaking her head, and reaching down, picking the infant up. It made a happy sound, and instantly grabbed for the stuffed blackbird which She still held on to. Astryd’s face broke into a full smile, watching the child play with the stuffed play thing.
I reached out slowly, placing my hand on top of the small child’s head, it’s skin was as pale as my own. At my touch, it halted it’s play time, and it’s eyes looked up, locking with my own.
I think I knew then, but I wasn’t entirely sure. When my words came forth, they were slow, cautious, as if they’d be my very last.
Raven
What’s this Child’s name, Astryd?
Astryd looked toward her, her smile fading into a cautious one, before she spoke slowly, with a mix of hesitance and love.
Astryd
Ivy Norenea
I swallowed once, before exhaling slowly, and speaking again.
Raven
That’s beautiful…her last name?
Astryd waited a few moments, then pulled me toward her and the child, placing my arm back around her waist, and holding the child between us with great care. She spoke then, her tone low, cautious, loving, and happy. But cautious for the most part, praying to whatever force she believed in that my response to the name wouldn’t shatter this moment.
Astryd
Knox…Ivy Norenea Knox
I felt my heart stop then, and shock’s icy grip took firm hold of me. I stared down at the smiling child briefly, before my hands went clammy, and I stepped backward, my hand leaving the child’s head. She looked at me, her big eyes full of wonder, then she did the most extraordinary thing I had heard in my life.
She spoke
Ivy Noreana Knox
Daddy?
X=R=X
I stood in the hallway, waiting for Astryd to finish putting Ivy to bed. I didn’t not want to be in the child’s presence, in fact, every instinct in my body wanted to hold the child close, and to never let her go. I hadn’t felt such a strong instinct to love and protect since I first had Hope in my life.
It wasn’t long before Astryd stepped quietly out into the hallway, and closed the door behind her. I looked down at her, and as soon as her eyes met me, I couldn’t help but look off to the side, a dark look coming over my features, and a feeling of both shame, and anger rising from the pit of my stomach.
Raven
I was gone for more than a year, wasn’t I?
The words came out in a low whisper. Astryd slowly nodded, grasping her arm, and looking away down the hall. The anger in my stomach turned to an icy grip of fear. I had lost months. Months of time. What the hell had happened? What the hell was going on?
Raven
Why didn’t you correct me, the other night?
She remained silent, then let out a shaky breath, and spoke in a low cautious tone.
Astryd
Because Matthew, You have been popping in and out for the past two years….you were just gone for a year straight…do you remember being there for Ivy’s birth? Do you even remember our wedding, Matthew?
I looked away from her, closing my eyes. The wedding I did remember. But Ivy, I had no recollection of. I didn’t remember Astryd being pregnant, the delivery, naming the child, bringing her home, anything.
In fact, before coming back, the last thing I really remember is packing my things the day after the wedding, boarding a flight to Shang Hai….
Then it went blank. I let out a low, labored breath, and reached out toward Astryd with one arm. Without question, she came forth, and leaned into my tense, shaken, and honestly scared form. The heat of her body pushed easily through the cotton of the old Devolution shirt I wore, and her legs pressed the cool denim against my skin. I rested my chin upon her soft, raven locks, and slowly ran my hand through her hair.
The fear heightened my awareness of everything at the moment, as if sub consciously, I wanted to remember this, to make up for everything that I had forgotten. I disentangled myself from the embrace, and took her hand in mine, then spoke in a low tone, nay a whisper.
Raven
We need to talk, Astryd.
Astryd
About what?
She answered, her tone low, fearful. Knowing that she felt afraid of me in any way tore at my heart, but I knew that this psychological issue would be something that I’d have to deal with on my own time, at another time.
Raven
Genesis, the FWF. . .I know I’ve been gone, maybe longer than I knew in a different way or so it would seem. . . .But I want you to be my manager from now on, Astryd.
She looked up at me inquisitively, and stepped forward again, caressing my cheek. Her touch sent waves of emotion and warmth through me, and I found myself unconsciously leaning into the palm of her hand.
Astryd
Why, Matthew?
Raven
Because, Astryd. I’ve been gone for so long now, I don’t want to waste any moment with you that I can possibly have. And lets face it, I don’t exactly have a knack for making friends in this business. . . Having you in my corner would be beneficial in the way that you could at least alert me to a run in, and, of course, I’d get to spend more time with my lovely wife.
She smiled then, and wordlessly leaned upward, and planted a soft kiss upon my lips. She spoke then, without moving away, her hot breath hitting my now moist lips, and bringing back that familiar feeling of want.
Astryd
If that’s what you want, Matthew, then I’d be happy to do this for you.
I smiled, and nodded my thanks to her, before leaning back down, and pulling her into another kiss, this one hungrier, Her other hand came up to my face then, clinging to my cheeks as our tongues danced with one another. I exhaled sharply through my nose, before wrapping my arms around her waist, and lifting her up. Her legs instinctively wrapped around my, as we pulled away from the kiss mutually, our breathing heavy, and ragged

Astryd
I love you too, Matthew Knox
With that, I walked down the hallway, to our bedroom, where we spent the rest of the night exploring the many wonders of each other’s bodies.
So this was having a family? This was what normal life was like?
I hope it stays as good as I don’t remember it being.

{You Again}
I pushed the flap down on my suitcase, and held it in place with my elbow as I worked the zipper around it’s path. I then stood up, and pulled the case from the bed, slinging it over my left shoulder, opposite the gym bag, which contained all my ring gear on my right. I stopped by the bedroom mirror on my way out, checking myself over once. My hair was tied back in a neat pony tail, my torso was covered in a black FWF GENESIS IV T Shirt, and a pair of blue jeans adorned my lower body, the legs covering the top half of my combat boots.
I smiled at the T Shirt. Genesis IV, my very first Genesis. What a night that was. I walked down the hallway, pleasant thoughts of beating Jimmy Paige, and Jordan Sharpe swilling through my mind. As I make my way down the stairs, toward the waiting car, I cant help but think of James Bohne, and all that the man entails for my career.
I’d done more with this guy than anyone in my entire career. We held two tag titles together, and at the same time, put on some of the most emotionally fueled, vicious matches in FWF History. When we worked together, we were a cohesive unit that could pick a pair of opponents apart, but when we were at odds, which we were, even as a tag team, we’d all but destroy each other in the squared circle.
Genesis would be no different.
I was Undefeated at Genesis
James was nothing but defeated at Genesis.
That would be no different at all, either.
