Scariest movie for me is easily the original Nightmare on Elm Street. As far as my favorite scary movie, I love Hellraiser, though I'm not a HUGE horror buff.

Scariest movie for me is easily the original Nightmare on Elm Street. As far as my favorite scary movie, I love Hellraiser, though I'm not a HUGE horror buff. Normally I'd agree, but I actually prefered the remake. It was a lot more sinister and a little less like a cartoon.
And as someone once said "For a film about a paedophile, I wanna see some kiddies getting raped..."

I didn't bother to see the remake. I'm such a huge Robert Englund fan that I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I heard mixed reviews, but I prefer to remember my version of Freddy.
